Glastonbury Tor is a hill formed from Jurassic rocks, the land surrounding has eroded leaving the Tor to stand out like an island among the early morning mists.

Although not confirmed it is believed that King Arthur of Camelot was buried here along with his wife Guinevere. In the 5th and 6th century the land below the Tor was wet marshland and the Tor an island.
